Kyle Salyers is Executive Director, Advancing Indiana, and special consultantfor economic development to the president of Indiana University.
Advancing Indiana is a program to ensure Indiana University's role as a major contributor to economic development efforts through an intensifiedfocus on academic excellence, an expanded research agenda, and a heightened commitment to economic development.
Mr. Salyers has served in a number of economic development leadership roles to support formation of some of Indiana's most critical economic development efforts. These include service with former Indianapolis Mayor Stephen Goldsmith's administration, the Mayor's High Technology Task Force, the Indianapolis Economic Development Corp., Techpoint, and Thomas P. Miller & Associates. He also serves on the Indiana University Research and Technology Corporation Advisory Board, the DePauw University 361 National Advisory Board and the Indiana Venture Center Board.
Mr. Salyers is past Innovation Fellow and Senior Portfolio Manager at Rose Hulman Ventures (RHV), a $55M venture capital fund, incubator, and new product development center affiliated with Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. In that capacity his responsibilities included sourcing investment opportunities, due diligence, and providing support to a number of portfolio companies. To date, RHV has made investments in more than 45 technology start-up companies.
His volunteer efforts include the Indiana University Emerging Technology
Center Advisory Board, the DePauw University 361 Technology Initiative
National Advisory Board, and the Indiana Venture Center Board of Directors.
He holds a BS degree in Economics and Sociology from DePauw University
where he was also a four year varsity basketball player.
