Mr. Morris is the Managing Director of Fin|Econ Partners, Inc. and possesses substantial experience in the valuation of securities, intellectual properties and other intangible assets. He advises clients operating across a range of industries with an emphasis on transactions, intellectual asset management, financial and tax reporting as well as commercial litigation. Mr. Morris has been published on several occasions and has served as a consulting or testifying expert in litigation matters. Cases in which he has prepared valuations and estimations of economic damage include patent infringement, breach of contract, merger-related litigation, shareholders’ rights and securities fraud.
Mr. Morris has served clients in senior roles for a number of years in the valuation industry. Before founding Fin|Econ Partners, Mr. Morris served clients at two national financial advisory firms, where he focused on valuation issues in the context of transactions, financial reporting, tax planning and commercial disputes. Complementing his advisory experience, he has also served as a financial analyst in the biotechnology industry and a financial officer in a consumer products company.
Mr. Morris possesses a broad range of industry experience, including aerospace & defense, banking and insurance, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, BPO, construction and materials, consumer products, distribution, energy and utilities, healthcare, plastics, retail, software, sports franchises and telecommunications.
Mr. Morris earned his MIM from Schiller University in Heidelberg, Germany, and his MSc. degree in finance from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. Mr. Morris holds a BA in history from the University of Dallas, where he graduated cum laude. In addition to his formal education, he has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, globally recognized as the definitive designation in investment analysis.
Mr. Morris is an active member of many local and national professional societies and organizations, including the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Dallas-Fort Worth, the Licensing Executives Society (LES), the American Finance Association, the American Economic Association and the Center for American and International Law.
In addition to his professional affiliations, Mr. Morris is a founding board member of Lakeland Academy, a not-for-profit Montessori school and serves as the chair of its finance committee. He is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Dallas, Graduate School of Management, where he lectures in international finance. He currently serves as Chair for the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the LES and as an advisory board member to the Institute for Law and Technology.
