Ron Buckhalt is Special Projects Director with USDA's Agricultural Research Service, Office of Technology Transfer, in Beltsville, MD. He has nearly 40 years of communications and public policy experience, having worked as a Congressional Press Secretary, executive branch political appointee, public relations executive, communications consultant, radio and television newscaster, and video producer. As a lobbyist in Washington, D.C., Ron has also served as a "registered foreign agent" representing several foreign countries as well as domestic clients. As CEO of his own consulting firm, he provided legislative, public relations, educational, and management services to many small business clients and the federal government. For the last 13 years, he has been a USDA advocate for biobased industrial products made from agricultural materials. In 1969 he earned a degree in journalism from Auburn University.
